Founded in 2015, Juslin-Maunula is a creative collaboration between designer Laura Juslin and architect Lilli Maunula, both from Finland. Playing with surrounding space and light, Laura and Lilli like to generate experiences through their clothes and accessories, blurring the lines of fashion collections and set design. Bringing the functional nature of architecture to fashion design and the decorative aspects of fashion to spatial constructions, the brand’s presentations in themselves are powerful visual experiences where spatial installations often physically overlap with the clothes.

Maria Korkeila was educated at Aalto University, in Helsinki. Currently based in Paris, Korkeila has gained experience with houses such as Rick Owens, Saint Laurent, Lutz Huelle, Anders Haal and Hyun Mi Nielsen. In 2017, Korkeila was awarded the Jury’s Special Mention at the renowned Festival d’Hyères, and showed a menswear collection at Pitti Uomo (Jan, 2018) in collaboration with Finnish heritage brand R-Collection. Korkeila was awarded the Young Talent of the Year at the Helsinki Design Awards in 2018.

Ensæmble is an independent attitude and itinerant practice drives ensæmble’s work into the multiple categories of image, installation and performance. Projects are divided between bespoke design and concepting as well as personal artwork. ensæmble has recently presented a commissioned sculpture installation at MAD New York, produced images for Turo Tailor x Ikla Wright and Aalto International Paris, and is currently working on spatial installations for the new headquarters of Hangzhou-based brand JNBY.

Talking Through Our Bodies is a design and art practice established in Helsinki in 2018. Through clothing-oriented works, the design process is framed as performance and performance used as a design tool. The potentials of garments’ and materials’ interactions with bodies are explored and applied in design, art and research contexts. Talking Through Our Bodies draws from the notion of clothing being a facilitator of communication between bodies.

Self-Assembly is a clothing label which makes ready-to-assemble garment construction kits. All S-A products are made with a special seam that allows them to be assembled by hand, without any tools or machinery. The products are sold as loose, flat packed components, which need be joined together, before they are ready to be worn.

After completing his menswear master’s studies at Central Saint Martins in 2011 Sasu Kauppi launched his eponymous brand on which he worked solely until 2014 before starting consulting for Kanye West’s YEEZY, eventually ending up as a design director for the brand. After returning to Helsinki in 2016 Kauppi launched his new clothing brand SSSU and continues to work on projects within various creative fields including fashion, music and graphic design.
