In ’16 Jymy Parhiala and Jussi-Pekka Ojala were working on their respective clothing projects at Aalto when they came to realise that they shared some specifics aesthetics and ideas about clothing. Ideas developed into prototypes and prototypes gradually into a project that is now called SHUWSU. Under this label, the two designers develop and produce durable clothing and wearable items in limited, numbered runs here in Helsinki. Sourcing plays a key role: high quality materials and components are hunted down from all over to be turned into distinctive and long lasting products. On 24.5. SHUWSU is releasing the first pieces: a mid sleeve parka shell and a heavy duty ”meshenger” bag, both with a few material and detail variations.
