FASHION IN HELSINKI 24.-27.5.2023

25.5. at 9.00 – 12.30

Transformation Conference – Exploring technological breakthroughs in fashion

Location: National Museum of Finland, Mannerheimintie 34, Helsinki

In the midst of the most transformative period that fashion has ever seen, we want to explore how Finland and Sweden can deepen their impact on the industry — together.

Coming off the success of the inaugural conference in 2022, Transformation Conference is back in 2023, with the purpose of strengthening the connection between Finland and Sweden, between creativity and innovation, between companies and investors. The purpose is to create a new platform where innovation companies, creative talent, and investors can meet and create new alliances.

The conference is built around panel discussions and interviews about topics such as “Materials and Technology – the new Nordic innovations”, “How brands can use technology to help with sustainability”, “How to use creativity to address our challenges”.

Presentation of the Young Designer of the Year 2022 Juha Vehmaanperä

Juha Vehmaanperä is a Finnish knitwear designer, whose presentation will be part of the seminar. Their work is defined by colourful hand knits and wild combinations of different textures but all in all, it is about having fun while smashing down the binary system. The work of Vehmaanperä has been featured in multiple fashion media such as Dazed, Vogue, Highstyle, and METAL. Vehmaanperä was one of the ten finalists at the 37th edition of the International Hyères Festival for Fashion, Photography, and Fashion Accessories in 2022 and in 2022 won the Young Designer of the Year award in Finland.
